After debuting as an advertising model in 2002, Koo gained huge popularity with the drama 『Boys Over Flowers』 (2009), and has since worked in various fields, including writers, film directors, painters, singers, and composers as well as actors.
He entered the Department of Imaging at Sungkyunkwan University's Department of Arts in 2011 and graduated as the head of the department in February last year, and in June of the same year, he passed a master's program in engineering at KAIST Graduate School of Science and Journalism.
Meanwhile, Koo married actor Ahn Jae-hyun, whom she met in the drama Blood in 2016, but divorced in 2020, four years later.
