According to local media such as Japan's Asahi Shimbun on the 4th, the Wakayama District Court sentenced Koichiro Ito to four years in prison on charges of violating the Prohibition of Child Prostitution and pornography Act on the 28th of last month.

In addition, he is accused of prostitution by paying 20,000 to 60,000 yen (about 194,000 won to 583,000 won) to two girls under the age of 18 at their home in Tokyo from November 2022 to July of the following year.
Police said they came across Ito's name while investigating a child prostitution case and opened an investigation. He reportedly admitted most of the charges filed by the police.
Meanwhile, Ito served as a senior producer for famous animation writer Makoto Shinkai, who produced animated films 'Your Name', 'Weather's Eye' and 'Suzume's Lockdown'.
