According to local media such as ET Today on the 15th, Seo Hee-won's farewell funeral was strictly observed in Taiwan's Geumbosan (Jinbao Mountain).
Family members, including Koo Joon-yeop and Seo Hee-won's mother, sister, and Seo Hee-won's two children, attended the meeting to see off Seo Hee-won in the heavy rain. According to reports, Koo Jun-yeop moved the urn of the deceased in tears in heavy rain.
Initially, the bereaved family considered the arboretum according to Seo Hee-won's wishes, but found a new burial site in consideration of various factors. Koo Jun-yeop said, `I hope we can visit Seo Hee-won at any time and have an independent space to be with him.'"We finally decided to place the Geumbosan Memorial Park as our burial ground." he informed. Geumbosan Mountain is one of the most famous tombs in Taiwan, where numerous famous stars, including Deungryeo-gun, Cori Lee, and Yi Mun, have perished.
Earlier, Seo Hee-won died on the 2nd of last month from pneumonia caused by the flu during a trip to Japan with her family. The fact was confirmed through an official statement by his younger brother Seo Hee-je, shocking many. In particular, Chinese stars also expressed their deep condolences for the deceased due to the sad news that emerged about three years after Koo Joon-yeop and Seo Hee-won married.
Seo Hee-won, who made her face known to Korea as the heroine of Taiwan's version of 'Boys Over Flowers" touched the public with her love story with Koo Joon-yeop, who reunited after about 20 years. Seo Hee-won broke up with Koo Jun-yeop in 1998 after dating him for about a year. He later married businessman Wang So-bi, but divorced in 2021. The two, who reunited again over Koo Joon-yeop's phone call, married in 2022 and formed a couple's relationship.
Koo Jun-yeop, who left his beloved wife, thanked many people for mourning Hee-won"Now I am passing through a time of pain that seems to break my intestines in indescribable sadness and pain. I didn't have the strength to say anything and I didn't want to say anything" he said.
