Ayane ♥ Lee Ji-hoon casts the musical Dream High...Park Kyung-rim, a director who has the power to move his heart

"Dream High" is a story about the main characters who dreamed of becoming K-pop stars in Kirin Art High School after graduating from high school and then returning to Kirin High School. Lee Ji-hoon X Kim Da-hyun X Jung Dong-hwa played the role of Kang Oh-hyuk, who has a strong sense of justice in the play and chose a life that protects children's dreams by standing on their side. The "Kang Oh-hyuk trio" also agreed that Park Kyung-rim joined as a creative director, making the atmosphere at the practice room even hotter.
-How do you feel about participating in Dream High?
When I say 'Dream High', many people think of dreams and hopes. I'm also very happy to be able to convey that emotion directly on stage, and on the other hand, it's a burden. It's especially meaningful to play 'Kang Oh-hyuk', who doesn't give up on the children until the end. I want to convey courage to many people through this character. I've had a good relationship with creative director Park Kyung-rim for a long time, and it's so nice and reassuring to work with her like this. Her own passion and warm energy are melted into Dream High, so I'm doing my best on stage with that strength.
Kim: I went to an art school in high school and lived the same life as the members of 'Dream High', which makes me more sympathetic and happy to be with you.
Jung: Have we ever been this happy on stage?' It was a piece that I thought of. Because 'Dream High' was a story about all of us 'Dream' as a child. I am grateful and happy to see 'Dream High' again, which reminds me of that dream and runs for my future dream.

E: I'm sure many of you remember the drama. I think those touching stories and masterpieces give a stronger resonance by meeting the genre of musical. In particular, live music and vivid energy sung by actors explode on stage, and I want to share that moment with the audience. I want to show Kang Oh-hyuk's warm humanity as well as his change because of his student. At first, he looks casual and clunky, but in fact, he loves his students more than anyone else. I hope it's delivered naturally on stage, too.
Kim: The character 'Kang Oh-hyuk' is a person who creates the dreams of his juniors and disciples, so it's very similar to me, and I'm also living a dream that doesn't end when it comes true, but can continue, so it helps me a lot in acting.
-You also participated in the encore performance, which came back after the premiere, and what was the biggest difference in your mindset and character interpretation while preparing?
Jung: The drama line has become richer and the relationship with each character has become stronger. Dream High is also a 'Show Musical', but it's not just a piece for 'Show', but it's also paying more attention to it so that it can be a heart-wrenching drama for the audience. So I think the warmer and more humane aspect will stand out than the existing teacher Oh Hyuk.
-Park Kyung-rim is participating as a creative director, so what kind of work is it becoming?
Lee: Creative director Park Kyung-rim is a person who really has the power to move people's hearts. You always have a pleasant energy and it's delivered to the actors as it is. Thanks to you, this work is being made warmer and more pleasant. We are all preparing in one mind, so I hope that the energy will be delivered to the audience.
Kim: It's helping a lot. Overall, I am moved and grateful to see the actors and dancers taking care of them like seniors and mothers.
Jung: He is leading us all in such a wonderful way that he can make a work that can bring joy and emotion to all of us, regardless of age or gender. Personally, I played the role of a lover named 'Tracy' and 'Link in the musical 'Hairspray'15 years ago, and this time, I feel new and very excited and happy to meet as a principal and a teacher.

Lee: "You're still a good enough teacher." Kang Oh-hyuk is actually not a perfect teacher. But I think about it for my students, and I try not to give up when I fall, and I get up again. I'm learning a lot from seeing that. "Sometimes it's hard and you want to give up, but the way you think about your students is real. The sincerity will eventually reach the children." I really want to tell you this.

-What is your favorite number in your work and why?
E: I really like 'Starlight' When this song comes out, the emotions in the play go up to the peak, and every time I sing it, the lyrics are so touching and touching. As well as the melody, the message from the song contains the core of Dream High, so I hope you listen to it carefully.
김: 'Look in the mirror'. I think looking back at yourself in the mirror and making a commitment again is a number that can be helpful in our reality.
Jung: Me too 'Look in the mirror' It looks like a song for Samdong, but it's always overwhelming because it's a song for himself in the mirror. Most of all, the song is so good. Ha Tae Sung is the best!
-Is there anyone you want to see?
Lee: I want all of my fellow actors who did the musical with me and those who support me to see it for themselves. Dream High is not just a growth story, but a work that makes you bring out your lost dreams once again. Through this performance, I hope that many people will think of their own dreams again and gain the strength to try again.
Jung: I would like to invite the main characters of the real life who were the main characters on stage but are currently living hard off stage due to various situations.

Lee: We all live with our own dreams. However, there are times in my life when my dreams become blurred, and sometimes I want to give up. In that case, I hope Dream High will become a work that gives you courage again. Our actors will be on stage every time they perform, cheering for your dreams. I hope you can breathe together, share emotions, and receive the strength to fly back to your dreams. I look forward to that moment with you. See you at the theater.
