EXID’s Hani Resumes SNS After 8-Month Hiatus

Hani, a member of the group EXID, resumed her SNS activities about eight months after the controversy over Yang Jae-woong, a psychiatrist and broadcaster for her prospective husband.

Hani is smiling brightly with her shortened hairstyle. The natural atmosphere without any makeup caught the eye. Hani's latest post was posted on July 11 last year, which was the first time in about eight months.

Hani was originally scheduled to marry Yang Jae-woong last year, but she postponed her marriage in May last year after a controversy broke out after a female patient in her 30s died at a psychiatric hospital run by Yang Jae-woong. A was hospitalized to treat diet drug addiction and died of pseudo intestinal obstruction, which was belatedly known only in July last year, two months after his death. The bereaved family filed a complaint with the police against Yang Jae-woong and hospital officials on charges of abandonment and professional negligence, claiming that the hospital left A dead.

Yang Jae-woong belatedly apologized to the bereaved family through his agency Mystic Story, but he could not avoid criticism. It was also known that Yang Jae-woong announced his marriage to Hani through entertainment programs a few days after A's death. Meanwhile, the police reportedly suspended the investigation in January, saying that the results of the Korean Medical Association's evaluation of Yang Jae-woong's medical case had not come. Hani will return through KBS2's entertainment program 「Immortal Songs」, which will air this month.
