Earlier, Shim Eun-woo made his face known in the JTBC drama 'The World of the Married' in 2020, but the following year, he was embroiled in suspicions of school violence. At the time, he said, `I apologize to my friend who was hurt by his immature attitude in the past.' However, two years later, in 2023, he reversed his position of apology and filed a criminal complaint against the author A for defamation. Since then, the controversy has reignited as A also presented additional evidence regarding Shim Eun-woo's alleged school violence. However, A was cleared of charges in May last year due to insufficient evidence. In response, Shim Eun-woo again denied the allegations of school violence, saying, "(The acquittal) does not mean that A's allegations are true."
Since then, five years after the controversy erupted on the 21st, Shim Eun-woo has expressed his unfairness about the alleged school violence surrounding him and his official position on the progress of the incident. "I came here with a great deal of nervousness," he said with difficulty.
On how he came to make his official statement, he said, `Actually, my writing was a little long, but I thought a lot about it. Even if not many people read this, I think it's right to write everything that happened to me as much as possible. As soon as the new year of 2025, I had three months to organize it, and I wrote it with concentration, so I thought I would have no regrets if only one of you read it," he said.

When asked if he had been contacted by Mr. A afterwards, Shim Eun-woo replied "No contact". He said "My expectation is that the friend must have seen the article about the statement as well" and "I didn't think he would stay still when I saw his actions, but I haven't heard from him yet"
