Min Hee-jin Wins Partial Victory in Defamation Lawsuit Against Haters

Min Hee-jin, former CEO of A-Door, won a half victory over the haters.

Judge Ahn Hyun-jin of the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of four haters to pay 50,000 to 100,000 won in compensation for damages worth 24 million won filed by Min against eight haters last month.

The Tribunal went beyond the limits of simple expression of opinion with insulting and derogatory personal attacks on the plaintiff. It ruled that "abstract judgment or derogatory expression of feelings that could undermine the plaintiff's social evaluation..."

However, for the remaining four, the claim was dismissed saying that the meaning of contempt was relatively minor and not too malicious.

Min had a conflict with Hive last year. Hive received a complaint saying that former CEO Min tried to take control of Audor, and Min protested that embezzlement of trust was a comedy and that Hive disparaged Newzins and his performance and treated him unfairly.

In the process, haters left comments aimed at former representative Min, such as 'MeeXX'TooXX'. In June last year, former CEO Min filed a lawsuit for damages claiming 3 million won per person.

Former CEO Min resigned from Odor last year.
