JTBC announced its official position on the 13th that JTBC is the only holder of the 'strongest baseball'IP to prevent the performers and staff from being harmed by filming without consultationStudio C1, which does not have the right to produce "strongest baseball", is still making a claim that is out of the question without disclosing the details of the production cost execution.
JTBC then said "JTBC is preparing legal proceedings and will no longer announce its consumptive position. JTBC has currently completed the formation of the crew for the new season of the `strongest baseball' and added, `We will return to season 4 as soon as possible.'
The Constitutional Court JTBC and Studio C1 are in conflict over 'strongest baseball'. JTBC previously stated that its trust was broken because Studio C1 did not disclose the details after overcharging the production cost, and since then, all IPs for 'strongest baseball' under the contract clearly belong to JTBC's right. C1 is trying to rob JTBC of its IP rights by pushing ahead with the production of Season 4 of 'The Greatest Baseball'."
In addition, JTBC also disclosed Article 11 (Intellectual Property Rights of Programs) of the program co-production contract dated April 28, 2023, and disclosed that under the Copyright Act, intellectual property rights (including secondary work creation rights, hereinafter referred to as copyrights) for programs (including photographed and edited copies) shall be 100% attributed to JTBC Central.
However, producer Jang Si-won made his position public through his personal account, explaining the IP ownership of 'strongest baseball', arguing that JTBC's intellectual property rights fall only for season 3 according to the name of the program marked on paper. Producer Jang said in Article 11 of co-production with JTBC that the program attributed 100% to the center of JTBC is defined as the strongest baseball (2023), which is produced on the premise of forming JTBC channels and affiliates channels. JTBC's current IP is limited to the filming of season 3 that has been aired" made the case.
In response, JTBC once again confirmed its position that JTBC holds intellectual property rights for the entire season, and gave an answer to PD Jang Si-won's ambiguous position.
JTBC is currently planning to produce season 4 with a new production team.
