Yoo Yeon-seok was fined 7 billion won..Tax Law Interpretation and Disagreement Explanation

The National Tax Service reportedly notified actor Yoo Yeon-seok of 7 billion won in taxes, including income tax. In response, Yoo Yeon-seok expressed his position that "It is unfair".

Yoo Yeon-seok's agency King Kong by Starship said on the 14th that "This issue stems from differences in opinions on the interpretation and application of the tax law between tax agents and tax authorities, and is awaiting notification from tax authorities after a pre-taxation review. It is not currently finalized and notified, and issues related to legal interpretation and application will be actively explained in accordance with due process."

The issue was caused by personal income tax on the income of the corporation that Yoo Yeon-seok developed and produced YouTube content as an extension of his entertainment activities and operated for additional business and restaurant businesses based on it, as the tax authorities interpreted it as an income tax payment target rather than corporate tax.

Finally, he added that `Yu Yeon-seok has made fulfilling his sincere tax obligations a top priority, and as a member of the people, he will continue to thoroughly comply with relevant laws and procedures and fulfill his responsibilities.'

According to a media outlet, the National Tax Service recently announced that it would impose about 7 billion won in taxes, including income tax, after conducting a tax investigation on Yoo Yeon-seok. Yoo Yeon-seok established Forever Entertainment, an agency he represents, and the National Tax Service judged that there was a tax problem in the process.
