Wheesung’s Funeral Delayed as Authorities Investigate Cause of Death

On the 11th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul decided to request the National Forensic Service (hereinafter referred to as the National Forensic Service) to conduct an autopsy to investigate the cause of Wheesung's death.
The agency and the bereaved family plan to set up a mortuary after the cause of death is revealed through the National Forensic Service.
Wheesung was found collapsed at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at around 6:29 p.m. on the 10th. Wheesung returned from China on the 9th to meet with his manager on the same day, but could not be reached. Due to Wheesung's death, the joint concert 'The Story' with KCM scheduled for the 15th at the Daegu Exco Auditorium was canceled.

However, Wheesung was charged with administering propofol 12 times between September and November 2019 and sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation in 2021. In March and April 2020, he was found collapsed after being hit with etomidate, a sleep-inducing anesthetic, in the bathroom of a building in Songpa-gu and Gwangjin-gu.
