Yoo Yeon-seok Disputes 7 Billion Won Tax Fine

Yoo Yeon-seok's agency King Kong by Starship said on the 14th that the issue stems from differences in opinions on the interpretation and application of the tax law between tax agents and tax authorities, and is awaiting notification from the tax authorities after a pre-taxation review.
"It is not currently finalized and notified, and issues related to legal interpretation and application will be actively explained in accordance with due process."
The agency explained, "This issue occurred when personal income tax was levied on the income of the corporation that Yoo Yeon-seok developed and produced YouTube content as an extension of his entertainment activities and operated for the purpose of additional business and restaurant businesses based on it, as the tax authorities interpreted it as an income tax payment target rather than corporate tax."
"Yu Yeon-seok has made fulfilling his sincere tax obligations a top priority, and as a member of the people, he will continue to thoroughly comply with relevant laws and procedures and fulfill his responsibilities," he said.
CBS No Cut News reported earlier that the National Tax Service recently notified Yoo Yeon-seok that it would impose about 7 billion won in taxes, including income tax, as a result of an intensive tax investigation.
However, Yoo Yeon-seok objected to the decision of the National Tax Service and requested a pre-taxation review in January. It refers to a kind of objection procedure that a taxpayer claims when he or she has an objection to the action of the tax authorities.
In this regard, Yoo Yeon-seok told CBS No Cut News that "the process of recalculating the amount of tax paid through a full tax review is in progress.""We will actively explain the issues related to the interpretation and application of the law in accordance with due process, and it is not finally confirmed or notified."
Yoo Yeon-seok's position is that he will actively explain the review process to correct the new amount. It also added that the 7 billion won imposed through the clarification process will be significantly lowered to 3 billion won.
