KBS Responds to EXO Xiumin's Absence from 'Music Bank'

KBS has expressed its position on EXO Xiumin's failure to appear in 'Music Bank'.

KBS sincerely thank the viewers for their interest in "Music Bank" on the 4th. Since its first broadcast in 1998, Music Bank has been introducing various artists' stages every week, with the history of K-pop"I let off the rhyme.

Then "I would like to tell you about the appearance of singer Xiumin." Ahead of the broadcast, the production team continued to discuss whether to appear with Xiumin. However, it is understood that there was a difference in the direction or expectations of the discussion in the process. 'Music Bank' is open to all agencies and artists, and the lineup is determined by comprehensively considering various factors such as stage composition and program flow based on communication with singers who wish to appear."

We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to accommodate all requests for appearances due to limited programming time and production conditions. I sympathize with the fans who have been waiting for Xiumin's performance, and I will do my best to make more artists meet with fans through Music Bank," he added.

Earlier, Xiumin's agency Won Hundred revealed that `KBS is not even responding to the call. It is impossible for Xiumin to appear simultaneously in programs featuring SM entertainment singers such as 'Music Bank' unofficially.'

KBS explained that it is "groundless and constantly communicating with the agency.".

While the petitioner answered that "Xiumin's 'Music Bank' was simply 'groundless', Xiumin's side demanded a proper answer to the question of 'overlapping appearance with a specific agency'. I would like to hear a more transparent answer than a simple fact that Xiumin made a KBS answer standard'misunderstanding close to a communication error' in response to the remarks. KBS, which has the right to decide on the position of the Korean broadcasting station and which problem was not properly communicated when the broadcast of 'Comeback', which is not a normal broadcast, was not allowed to appear, claimed.

KBS responded in accordance with the viewer petition rule that petitions that have been agreed by more than 1,000 people must be officially answered. However, the controversy is expected to intensify by giving an ambiguous answer of 'Difference in Expectations' without explaining whether it is correct to mention a specific agency or by what criteria the artist is selected.
