Ko Yoon-jung appears to be cool-headed as Oh Oi-young, a first-year resident of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Jongno Yulje Hospital, but she is receiving explosive responses from viewers due to her deep-seated unexpected charm. Her name is dominating the charts at home and abroad amid favorable reviews for her performance, which hit the biggest 'Porten' since her debut.
In fact, Ko Yoon-jung topped the TV-OTT integrated topical cast list for the third week of April, compiled by content competitiveness analysis agency Good Data Corporation, for the second consecutive week in the drama and overall category. 'Unseuljeon' itself proved its popularity by ranking first in the drama category. YouTube and SNS-related videos have a whopping 200 million views, and even the words 'Go Yoon-jung Syndrome' are coming out.
In particular, Ko Yoon-jung plays a role in driving viewership growth by playing a wide spectrum of young doctors, humanistic emotional acting, straight romance, and comical scenes through the character Oi-young in the play.
'Unseuljeon' started with 3.7% in the first inning and has been steadily rising to 4.0% in the second, 4.5% in the third, and 5.1% in the fourth (based on Nielsen Korea), and in particular, it ranked first in the same time period including all broadcasters in 2049 ratings, perfectly capturing the target audience.
In addition, Flick Patrol, which compiles global OTT rankings, ranked 10th globally in the Netflix TV show category as of the 21st, and 'Unseuljeon' was the only Asian work included in this ranking, adding to the surprise.
