On the 3rd, a final hearing was held on Oh Young-soo, who was indicted on charges of forced harassment by the sixth criminal appeal department of the Suwon District Court (Chief Judge Kwak Hyung-seop, Kim Eun-jung and Kang Hee-kyung).
The prosecution said, `Oh Young-soo is an elderly actor who has been active in the theater industry for 50 years and committed the crime against a powerless practice member. The victim has not been forgiven, and the victim lives her daily life in fear, but Oh Young-soo claims that the victim makes false statements", and demanded a year in prison.
Oh Young-soo said, `I'm ashamed to be in court at this age (81 years old). If my words and actions are wrong and guilty, I will be paid for it. However, even now, there was nothing that could be considered harassment in his words and actions at the time. I feel sorry if my lack of words and actions hurt the complainant's heart. The 80-year-old life collapsed, making it futile and unbearable. Please bring me back to my seat."
Oh Young-soo's lawyer also said, `There is no consistency and concreteness in the victim's statement, which is the only evidence of the prosecution, and the statement itself contradicts. It also contradicts objective facts such as third-party testimony. The conviction of the first trial is due to Oh Young-soo's apology message to the victim. He pleaded not guilty by saying, `When 'Squid Game' became a hot topic, he was suddenly asked to apologize and made a formal apology not to harm actors and producers.'
The victim's lawyer said "The defendant did so with a daughter's heart," adding that he hurt her and did not sincerely reflect. Only punishment is the way to prevent similar crimes,' he said, calling for severe punishment.
Oh Young-soo was indicted without detention on charges of indecent assault, hugging A on the trail saying, `Let's hug him' while staying in the province for a theater performance from July to September 2017, and kissing him on the cheek in front of A's residence in September.
Oh Young-soo completely denied the allegations, but the first trial court sentenced him to August in prison and two years of probation.
An appeals court hearing for Oh Young-soo will be held on June 3.
