Recently, the 9th Division (Chief Judge Inuri) of the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Court sentenced Arum, who was indicted without detention on fraud charges, to six months in prison and two years of probation.
Arum is accused of not paying back 37 million won after borrowing 37 million won from fans and acquaintances last year. Arum denied the crime in the first place, saying, `It was done by the hacking criminal.' He also revealed that he is pregnant with the child of his boyfriend A.
However, Arum broke up with A shortly after and claimed to have borrowed money from fans due to A's threats of imprisonment and assault. In response, A gave an answer to the effect that Arum is rambling as a new recruit. After that, Arum reunited with A and had two more children with A. In addition, it was reported that he admitted the charges in a police investigation, saying 'single crime'.
Arum joined as a tiara member in July 2012, but left the team in July 2013. Afterwards, he married B, a businessman two years his senior, in 2019 and had two sons, but in December 2024, he confessed to his romantic relationship and pregnancy with A.
In the process, Arum claimed that B committed domestic violence. However, B was not indicted on charges of child abuse. Rather, Arum's mother was handed over to the prosecution on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act (child abuse and neglect of child abandonment) and attracting minors.
Arum was not notified of the prosecution's transfer and claimed that B was lying, but the court ordered him to take a two-year suspended and 40-hour child abuse prevention lecture in August on charges of child abuse and defamation.
Arum has filed an appeal against the ruling.
