Female BJ Sentenced to 7 Years for Extorting Kim Junsu

A female BJ who threatened singer Kim Junsu to extort money and goods has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

The Supreme Court Department 3 (Chief Justice Lee Heung-gu) secured a court case that sentenced A, a woman in her 30s, to seven years in prison on charges of violating the law on aggravated punishment for certain economic crimes.

Mr. A is accused of secretly recording his private conversation with Kim Jun-soo from September 2020 to October 2024 as an African TV BJ and threatening to distribute it on social media, extorting a total of 840 million won 101 times. Mr. A approached him by introducing himself as a nail artist and then dated Kim Jun-soo, and reportedly committed the crime when the relationship became negligent.

In the first trial, Mr. A was addicted to propofol and his ability to judge rationally was poor. He committed the crime to raise money for drugs," he said, appealing for leniency.

However, the court sentenced him to seven years in prison, saying, `The nature of the crime is not very good considering the criminal method, period, and amount of damage threatened by using the victim's weakness.' A appealed, but the second trial also sentenced him to seven years in prison and ordered the confiscation of one mobile phone and one smartphone device, saying he was concerned about Kim Jun-su's additional damage.

In this regard, Kim Jun-su said "I clearly state that Kim Jun-su is a clear victim""Mr. A continued to threaten Kim Joon-soo for a long time because he was a celebrity." Kim Jun-su has been suffering from constant intimidation and mental distress, and has decided to take legal action preemptively to prevent further damage" he said. In addition, "Kim Jun-su is not related to Kim Jun-su's long-term drug (propofol, etc.) case, and after Kim Jun-su filed a complaint first, a police investigation revealed that A had an additional drug record. The recorded file is also a private conversation and does not contain any inappropriate or misleading content. Mr. A recorded private conversations between individuals for illegal purposes as a means of intimidation."

Afterwards, A appealed, but the Supreme Court dismissed the reason for A's appeal, judging that it did not meet the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Act. Accordingly, A was finally sentenced to seven years in prison.
