NewJeans Reaffirms Contract Termination with ADOR During Second Court Hearing

On the morning of the 4th, the second hearing date was held at the 41st Division of the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement (the chief judge's meeting date) to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract filed by Adore against the members of NewJeans.
NewJeans did not appear in court that day. Instead, only NewJeans, Adore and legal representatives from both sides were present to express their position on the exclusive contract.
NewJeans said "The trust relationship with Adore has already completely broken down. He said he had no intention of agreeing that he had crossed a river that could not be returned. On the other hand, Odor expressed his intention to agree, saying, `If the court concludes it, it will be agreed afterwards.'
NewJeans declared in November last year that the exclusive contract was terminated due to Ador's breach of contract. They changed the team name to 'NJZ' and carried out independent activities, but Ador filed an injunction, including preserving the agency's status and prohibiting the conclusion of an advertising contract, along with a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract.
The court cited all of Odor's applications for provisional injunction. NewJeans immediately filed an objection and suspended its activities.
The court later cited an indirect compulsory application filed by Adore against NewJeans on May 30. The court said that "NewJeans shall not engage in entertainment activities independently or through a third party without prior approval or consent from Adore until the judgment of the first trial of the lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract is made" he ruled.
In addition, if NewJeans violates this, it will have to pay 1 billion won in compensation to Adore per violation. If NewJeans conducts its own activities as a whole, it will have to pay 5 billion won in compensation at a time.
The next anniversary will be held on July 24.
