Crohn's disease, which Yoon Jong-shin suffers from, is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can occur in any part of the digestive tract from the mouth to the anus. The most commonly complained symptoms are diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weight loss, and symptoms such as general weakness, loss of appetite, and mild fever can be accompanied. Arthritis, skin symptoms (nodular erythema, gangrenous pyoderma), ocular lesions (iris, uveitis), and fibrosis can also cause extra-intestinal symptoms such as sclerosing cholangitis and kidney stones, which narrow the bile duct or cause stenosis as the bile duct wall thickens.
Yoon Jong-shin previously confessed through broadcast media that he has been suffering from Crohn's disease for a long time. In 2012, he appeared on SBS 'Healing Camp, Aren't You Happy?' and cut 60cm off his small intestine due to Crohn's disease. I think I've had Crohn's since middle school, but I found it in my late 30s. When I was in middle school, I had diarrhea and abdominal pain of unknown cause, and I think that was the beginning."
