Former SBS announcer Kim Bum-soo was summoned..Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee Suspicion of Stock Price Manipulation

It has been confirmed that the independent counsel team investigating the 'suspicious stock price manipulation of First Lady Kim Gun-hee' summoned former SBS announcer Kim Bum-soo to investigate.

According to the JoongAng Ilbo on the 3rd, the special prosecutor team of Kang Chan-woo recently called Kim Bum-soo as a reference and conducted an investigation. Kim Bum-soo is known to be one of the key figures to confirm whether he had links or conspired with Kim Gun-hee in connection with the Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation case. Former announcer Kim also served as an in-house director of Covana Content, which was represented by first lady Kim Gun-hee. Kim Bum-soo's tenure is from June 2011 to June 2014, and from March 2015 to March 2018, and the previous period from 2011 to 2014 is said to overlap with Deutsche Motors' second operation (October 2010 to December 2012).

The special prosecution reportedly focused on whether Kim Bum-soo had a history of hosting Deutsche Motors-related events in the past and had contact with people involved in stock price manipulation. Also subject to investigation is whether Kim Bum-soo was involved in any form of information sharing or market price manipulation conspiracy with Kim or Kwon Oh-soo, former chairman of Deutsche Motors.

The special prosecution team caught former announcer Kim's stock trading situation during the investigation of the Deutsche Motors case, and suspects that Kim may have shared the stock price manipulation with former announcer Kim in the process.

Meanwhile, the independent counsel team recently applied for a search warrant with the Seoul Central District Court to secure the details of Kim Gun-hee's account transactions. Although the court rejected this, the special prosecutor is increasing the intensity of the investigation by announcing a policy of re-claiming after supplementing additional data.

An official of the special prosecution said, `The investigation into the summoning of those involved is ongoing and does not rule out the change of status if necessary.'

Meanwhile, Kim Bum-soo, a former SBS announcer, graduated from Seoul National University's business administration department and transferred to the 6th TBS open recruitment announcer in 1995, moved to the 1st SBS Golf Open in 1999, and served as the 8th SBS open recruitment announcer in 2000. He worked as an MC for many SBS programs, including 'Fun TV Heaven', 'Friday Culture Club', 'Access Movie World', and 'Imagine Power Plant', and quit SBS in March 2004 and worked as a freelance broadcaster.
