Hani ♥ Yang Jae-woong Hospital Suspicions of Violation of Medical Law...a pile of nursing staff

Police investigating the death of a patient at a hospital run by Yang Jae-woong, a psychiatrist and broadcaster, have booked four more hospital officials.

On the 19th, the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency said it had booked four people, including a nurse A, who worked at a Bucheon-based hospital run by Yang Jae-woong, on charges of violating the medical law.

They are accused of engaging in unlicensed medical practices, such as providing medicines to patients without a doctor's prescription.

As a result, the number of people booked in this case has increased from 7 to 11. The police plan to call Yang Jae-woong as a suspect as early as this week by charging him with violating the medical law, professional negligence, and abandonment.

The remaining suspects have already been investigated more than once.

The incident erupted on May 27 last year when B, a female patient in her 30s who was hospitalized to treat diet drug addiction, died 17 days after hospitalization.

The bereaved family sued Yang Jae-woong and hospital officials, claiming that the patient was unfairly quarantined and forced while hospitalized and did not receive proper medical measures.

In March, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea also requested the Supreme Prosecutors' Office to investigate five people, including Yang Jae-woong and his doctor, in connection with allegations of false preparation and assistance of medical records.

The National Human Rights Commission pointed out that the quarantine and coercion instructor conducted at night was listed as a doctor on duty in the record, and that the nurse took quarantine measures arbitrarily and falsely recorded them.

The police have continued their investigation by confiscating Yang Jae-woong's hospital in April and requesting an appraisal from the Medical Dispute Mediation Agency. Depending on the results of the police investigation, the case is expected to be decided whether or not to be sent to the prosecution.

Meanwhile, Yang Jae-woong reportedly dropped out of all broadcasts after the incident and postponed his wedding plan to his lover, singer Hani.
