On the 22nd, a production briefing session for the movie 'Face' was held at the entrance of Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Jayang-dong, Seoul. Director Yeon Sang-ho, actors Kwon Hae-hyo, Park Jung-min, Shin Hyun-bin, Lim Sung-jae, and Han Ji-hyun attended the Q&A session.
Kwon Hae-hyo, who played the blind role in the play, said "I had to wear contact lenses for filming, but I couldn't see well in front of me." There was a strange comfort that I felt at that time"Don't you get a lot of information through your eyes. Actors also respond to small gestures and breathing sounds when acting, but there was a sense of stability and comfort that they were blind. I don't even realize what I'm going to look like."
He said "My small father-in-law was blind. I think I've been influenced a lot without knowing it because I've seen it from the side. I think that was naturally revealed in the acting," he said, drawing attention by revealing his personal history related to the character.
It's hard to put on contact lenses. I've been without presbyopia all my life with good eyes, but when I got foreign substances in my eyes, I got a feeling of fear. "It was hard because I had to keep putting strength in my eyes, and when I took it out, it was cool. It seems that people who live as blind people have experienced it indirectly even a little bit."
Formally invited to the 50th Toronto International Film Festival Special Presentation Section, 'Face' tells the story of a blind but reborn man, a master of all fields, and his son digging into the mystery of the death of his wife and mother, who have been buried for 40 years. Park Jung-min, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-bin, Lim Sung-jae, and Han Ji-hyun appeared, and Yeon Sang-ho, director of 'Train to Busan'Ban Peninsula', took the megaphone. It will be released on September 11.
