On the 28th, Shuka displayed UNESCO and WHO logos on the screen while dealing with the case of the Trump administration's withdrawal from international organizations during a live broadcast of the YouTube channel 'Shuka World'.
However, it became a problem that the WHO logo was a composite image, not an official image. In the image, Roh's face, skate, and silhouette embracing the dog were inserted in the place where the world map should be entered. This manipulated image, which is believed to have been produced and distributed by the far-right online community 'Daily Best' (Ilbe), was used for broadcasting.
As the controversy spread, Shuka World removed the video from the channel, but has yet to issue an official apology. Internet users wrote, `It is irresponsible of millions of people not to go through the least verification on broadcasts" "It's a shock that the Japanese image is written as it is."
Some point out that the controversy cannot be seen as a simple mistake. In fact, the manipulated WHO logo is exposed at the top of the Google image search, raising the possibility that this happened when Shuka brought the image through a search instead of the official website. However, considering the size and influence of the channel, there are many voices that more thorough verification was needed.
Shuka has been embroiled in controversy over political sensitivity in the past. In July, Japan's earthquake broadcasting was criticized for using a map marked 'Sea of Japan' instead of 'East Sea'. At that time, Shuka apologized, saying, "100% my fault", and donated 30 million won to the Korean Red Cross 'Helping the descendants of independence activists' to evolve.
