FTISLAND’s Lee Hong-gi Apologizes for Festival Cancellation Due to Vocal Cord Injury



FT Island Lee Hong-ki bowed his head about canceling the show due to health problems.

On the 25th, Lee Hong-ki wrote on his account, "I had to go to Dongguk University festival today, but I couldn't go because I came here with a broken vocal cords." he said.

Then "I'm so sorry that I hurt the precious memories of Dongguk University students." I'll make sure to pay for that hurtful time," he apologized.




Dongguk University Students' Association also announced that the FT Island performance scheduled for today was canceled on the same day by the artist"Ko said.

Lee Hong-ki is currently preparing to appear in the musical 'Sugar' in addition to his FT Island activities.

'Sugar' is based on the comedy classic 'I like hot things' that has been loved all over the world. Set in the 1929 sobriety era, it gleefully depicts a left-handed happening when two jazz musicians, who happen to witness gang killings, dress up as women to save their lives and join a female band in disguise.




Lee Hong-ki takes on the role of Cho (Josephin), a romantic saxophonist who tries to dress up in order to live in the play.

'Sugar' will be performed at KEPCO Art Center Grand Theater from Dec. 12 to Feb. 22, 2026.
