According to foreign media reports such as the New York Times on the 22nd (local time), broadcaster ABC and its parent company Disney said in a statement that they will schedule the program normally from the 23rd.
The ABC had stopped making `in order not to unnecessarily heighten tensions at a time of heightened emotions nationally""We judged that the comments were inappropriate in time, but after several days of in-depth talks with Jimmy Kimmel, we decided to resume the broadcast.", he explained.
Earlier on the 15th, Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the killing of Charlie Kirk, a far-right youth political activist, saying that the "MAGA (Trump supporters) group is politically distorting the case".
He also released a scene in which President Donald Trump responded to a question about the incident, saying, `It's the level of a four-year-old child responding after losing a goldfish.'
After the remarks, Brendan Carr, a member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), reportedly pressured local stations to stop airing the program, and eventually announced that ABC would suspend production indefinitely on the 17th.
Shortly after the decision, more than 400 people, including major Hollywood unions and actors Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, protested, calling it a violation of 'freedom of expression', and even boycotted Disney.
Although ABC has officially announced the resumption of broadcasting, it is still unclear whether Nexstar and Sinclair Media Group, which have a number of affiliated local stations, will actually transmit the program.
'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'' has been a representative program of late-night talk shows in the United States for more than 20 years since its first broadcast in 2003. Several K-pop stars also appeared, including BTS (BTS), Blankpink, SuperM, NCT 127, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, and Espa.
