"The Big Star of Korean Comedy" left in many people's tears.
The late Jeon Yoo-sung (76), who was called the "Godfather of the Comedy" and a pioneer of Korean comedy, went to bed on the 28th. It has been three days since he died at Chonbuk National University Hospital on the 25th.
At 6 a.m. on the same day, numerous junior comedians along with their bereaved families attended the funeral ceremony at Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, to protect the last path of the deceased. Comedian Lee Soo-geun was in charge of the society, and the prayer was raised by comedian and pastor Pyo In-bong. Paeng Hyun-sook, Lee Young-ja, Park Joon-hyung, Jung Jong-cheol, and Jo Se-ho saw off the last of the deceased.

In his memorial speech, the junior comedian Choi Yang-rak recalled, "The one who first created the title 'Gagman' on this land, created 'Gag Concert', and "The first person in Korea to set up a comedy department, run a small theater, and personally trained the younger generation."
Another eulogy, Lee Hong-ryul, was an innovator on stage and a teacher backstage. He said, "He proved that laughter is the air of a society. The laughter and teachings you left behind will live and breathe forever on the hearts and on the stage of your juniors."

Kim Hak-rae, chairman of the funeral committee, referred to Kim Jeong-ryeol's 'Sungguri Ddang', which the deceased liked during his lifetime, and asked for the stage, "Enjoy your way to heaven". Kim Jung-ryul actually performed 'Sungguri Confident' to create an unusual farewell ceremony where laughter and tears intersect in a solemn atmosphere.

Born in Seoul in 1949, Jeon Yu-seong debuted as a TBC broadcast writer in 1969. Since then, he has opened a new chapter in broadcast comedy by creating a number of popular programs, including 'Humor No. 1', 'Show Video Jockey' and 'Youth March song'. In particular, he changed the language of popular culture by using the title 'Gagman' for the first time, and led the heyday of Korean comedy by creating KBS2 'Gag Concert'.
In addition, he expanded the performance stage through the Daehakro Iron Bag Theater and the Busan International Comedy Festival, and he worked as a professor of comedy at Yewon University of the Arts and raised juniors such as Kim Shin-young and Jo Se-ho. Having influenced the entire cultural world with his creative planning skills, he was respected as a 'idea bank' and 'mentor'.

At 9 p.m. on the 25th, he died at the age of 76. The deceased recently died while being hospitalized at Chonbuk National University Hospital due to worsening pulmonary pneumothorax symptoms while his daughter was watching.
The funeral was held as a comedian (president of the Comedian Association), and colleagues and juniors, including Shim Hyung-rae, Yoo Jae-seok, Kang Ho-dong, Kim Yong-man, Nam Hee-seok, Lee Kyung-sil and Ji Seok-jin, paid their respects at the mortuary set up at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. Actors Song Seung-hwan, singers Seo Soo-nam and Park Sang-chul also said their final greetings.
The burial site of the deceased is Inwol-myeon, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, where he ran a noodle restaurant during his lifetime.
