Born in North Gando in 1940, the deceased settled in Busan during the January 4 Retreat in 1951, founded the theater company Avant Stage with his younger brother, the late Jeon Seung-hwan, and served as an actor and director representing the Busan theater industry. He laid the foundation for local theater by appearing and directing more than 200 works, including John Osborne's 「Look Back with an Angry Face」 and Oh Young-jin's 「"Sgt. Maeng Jinsa's House".
He served as the chief director and artistic director of the Busan Municipal Theater Company, the chairman of the Busan Branch of the Korean Theater Association, and also served as a producer of MBC in Busan. Starting with the 2003 film 'Cheongpung Myeongwol', it expanded its scope to the mass media, revealing its presence in a number of works such as dramas 'Taewangsa Singi', 'Baking King Kim Tak-gu', and 'Deep Root Tree'.
He won the Lee Hae-rang Theater Award for the first time as a local theater artist, and won several awards including the Busan Culture Award, the Busan Culture and Arts Awards, the Korea Theater Association's Proud Theater Person Award, and the Korea Arts Association Arts and Culture Award.
The funeral is held as a Korean theater director. The mortuary is at Busan On General Hospital Funeral Home No. 303, and the coffin is at 9 a.m. on the 3rd. He is survived by his son Jeon Ji-woong and daughters Jeon Ji-hyun and Ji-in.
