Taking charge of the

(Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange)

Hello, I'm Park Jinyoung. As you may have seen on the news, I was in charge of the direct presidential organization called the Popular Culture Exchange Committee.

I thought a lot about taking on a government job as an entertainment industry worker because it was so burdensome and worrisome in many ways, but now K-pop has a very special opportunity, and I decided to make good use of this opportunity.

When I went to the U.S. in 2003 and distributed promotional materials of our singers to American record labels, when Wonder Girls entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time as a Korean singer in 2009, and at this moment, my dream is the same. What K-pop is loved all over the world.

I will work hard to organize the parts that I wanted to have institutional support while working in the field so that effective support can go, and to help junior artists get more opportunities. And we will do our best to help K-pop take a leap forward and become a place for people around the world to understand and exchange with each other beyond promoting our culture.

It's something that starts after a lot of thought, so I ask for your advice and support. And I sincerely thank the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young for taking over this work together. Thanks to you, I was able to take courage.
