According to the legal community on the 15th, the 37-year-old thief submitted an appeal to Park Ji-won, a senior judge at the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Chamber 1, who heard the first trial on the 9th.
Jeong is accused of breaking into Park Na-rae's home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul in April and stealing tens of millions of won worth of money and goods and running away. He testified in a police investigation that he broke in and stole things without knowing that it was Park Na-rae's house.
Jeong committed the crime alone without an accomplice, and even offered stolen money and valuables as stolen goods. Chung was also arrested for committing theft at another house in Yongsan-gu at the end of March.
Earlier on the 3rd, the first trial court sentenced Jeong, who was indicted on charges of theft and overnight home invasion, to two years in prison.
At that time, the court considered that the defendant admitted the charges, expressed his intention to turn himself in to Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on April 11, and returned money and goods to the victim," he said, explaining the reason for his sentencing.
Meanwhile, A and B, who took over the stolen goods and were handed over to trial on charges of acquiring business negligence, were fined 2 million won and 3 million won, respectively, in the first trial. They did not appeal, so the sentence was confirmed.
