Park Shin-yang's 100 billion jackpot in 'The Chaebol's Wife'..the highest sales since its foundation

Hagen Dazs Korea, a premium ice cream brand known as actor Park Shin-yang's in-laws, is attracting attention with record sales.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure on the 22nd, Hagen Dazs Korea's sales for the 36th fiscal year (June 2024 to May 2025) were 98.5 billion won. This is a 12% increase from the previous year (87.8 billion won) and is the highest performance since its foundation for the second consecutive year.

Hagen Dazs Korea is a joint venture established in 1991 by the late former chairman Baek Jong-geun and General Mills of the United States with a 50% stake each. Former chairman Baek worked in the domestic aviation agency business and food distribution business, focusing on the business community, and his stake was inherited to his family after his death in 2022. The company is currently owned by Haagen Dazs in the Netherlands at 50 percent, and the other half is held by relatives including Baek Soon-seok (25.24 percent), the eldest son of the late former chairman Baek Jong-geun.

In 2002, Park Shin-yang married Baek Hye-jin, the grandchild of the late former chairman Baek Jong-geun and the nephew of CEO Baek Soon-seok, and has a daughter.

Park Shin-yang's in-laws also received attention on Channel A I Heard a Rumor, which aired in 2016.

At the time, a cast member said "Park Shin-yang's wife Baek Hye-jin is the grandson of a chaebol who brought the world-famous ice cream brand Haagen Dazs to Korea."

Another cast member said, "Hagendaz Korea has maintained its No. 1 position in the premium ice cream market since entering Korea in 1991, and recorded an annual sales of KRW 35 billion and an operating profit of KRW 3 billion," he added.

In addition, Baek Hye-jin's father is known to have run a Korean agency for Northwest Airlines, the world's fourth-largest airline, in the early 2000s. As such facts have been made public, interest in Park Shin-yang's wife's family finances and solid entrepreneurial background is also continuing.
