150 million won drug BJ tax, 2 years in prison in the second trial is highly dependent on drugs

BJ Seya was also sentenced to prison in the second trial for drug administration.

On the 29th, the Seoul High Court sentenced BJ Seya to two years in prison on charges of violating the Specific Crime Aggravated Punishment Act. This is the result of a reduced sentence than the original ruling, which sentenced him to three and a half years in prison.

BJ Seya is accused of purchasing, administering, or smoking drugs worth 150 million won, including ketamine ecstasy hemp, from June 2021 to August 2023. In addition, there is a charge of receiving drugs from a YouTuber who was a gangster and administering them with acquaintances at home.

The court pointed out that the defendant's dependence on drugs is considerable and that the self-imposed drug seems to have limitations.

The court considered BJ Seya's willingness to take a single step and the lack of a record of punishment exceeding fines as favorable reasons for sentencing.

He was also found not guilty of possessing ketamine. BJ Seya has argued that a small amount of ketamine was found in the residence in October 2023, but was not in possession while recognizing it.

The court said "It does not seem that the defendant, who turned himself in from the investigation stage, made a statement about the possession of this part only." It seems possible that residual ketamine left over from previous administration may have been found in the residence."

BJ Seya debuted as an African TV BJ in 2008, turned himself in to the police in March 2023 after confessing to taking drugs on a live broadcast, and was arrested and charged in October last year.
