Actor Kim Min-jong raised the status of Korean films on the Hollywood stage with his first movie return in 20 years 'Florence knockin'on you'.

At the '2025 Global Stage Hollywood Film Festival' held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on the 4th (local time), it won three awards: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.

Directed by Lee Chang-yeol, the film is set in the scenery of Florence, Italy, and depicts a journey of a middle-aged man 'Seokin' looking back on his life and realizing the meaning of what he lost. It explores the nature of human existence and happiness using the Florence Cathedral's 'Cupola' as its main symbol.

Kim Min-jong acted deeply as the main character 'Seok-in', who faced a turning point in his life in the play. He, who has been engaged in both drama and music activities, returned to the screen after about 20 years, receiving favorable reviews from the audience for his more mature emotional expression.

Kim Min-jong said, `I am very touched that my return to the movie has been recognized in Hollywood for the first time in a long time,' adding, `I will take Hollywood's good energy to spread the word 'Pyrenche'", he expressed his feelings.

Director Lee Chang-yeol said, "It is even more meaningful because it was made by actors and staff members." He said, "I will continue to meet the audience with good works in the future."." Actress Ye Ji-won said, `It is an honor to share the emotions of Korean movies with global audiences.'

Kang Kwang-min, CEO of K-Fandom, an investment firm, said, `I am happy to announce the possibility of Korean movies to the world.'We will continue to push for overseas expansion" he said.

The award of 'Pirenche' was symbolic in that it was Kim Min-jong's return and that the narrative and directing power of Korean films were recognized on the Hollywood stage. Analysts say that this achievement presents a new possibility for Korean actors to enter the global market in the future.
