BTS RM to Curate Historic Special Exhibition with San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 2026



RM will collaborate with the San Francisco Museum of Contemporary Art (SFMOMA) for the best of all time.

On the 3rd, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art announced the opening of a special exhibition 'RM x SFMOMA with BTS RM. The exhibition will be held from October 2026 to February 2027, featuring more than 200 works, including RM's personal collection and works owned by the museum. You can organically connect the visual and conceptual contexts of both collections and look into RM's artistic sensitivity and collection aesthetics. In particular, it is notable that RM directly participates as a curator.

This exhibition is the first collaboration with K-pop artists since the establishment of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The museum first proposed a project that praised RM's deep collection taste and affection for contemporary art. The exhibition is organized by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and RM.

RM says "We are living in an era defined by boundaries. I hope this exhibition will serve as a place to reflect on the boundaries between East and West, Korea and the United States, modern and contemporary, individual and universal." Janet Bishop, the senior curator who represented the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, said "Visitors will have an unprecedented opportunity to appreciate RM's beautiful, contemplative collection of paintings and sculptures with the collection and experience dialogue in between."," he said.

The RM collection includes a number of works by renowned artists from all over the world, including masters representing Korean contemporary art. Works from various countries and cultures will be displayed, and many of the open works will be introduced to the general public for the first time.
