In the 9th to 12th episodes (final episode) of MBN's Wednesday-Thursday mini-series "First Lady" (script by Kim Hyung-wan, director Lee Ho-hyun, production by Studio Gidam, artist studio, and roadshow plus), Lee Si-gang perfectly embodied a cold-blooded character who did not hesitate to threaten and murder for his ambition.
In the play, Yang Hoon (Lee Si-gang) assaulted his secretary mercilessly in anger at the passage of a special law for workers, and tried to pressure Cha Soo-yeon (Yu Jin), who claims to be the biological daughter of Hyun Min-chul (Ji Hyun-woo), to confirm the paternity of Lee Hwa-jin (Han Soo-ah), and rather took advantage of the situation to quell public criticism about the composition of the special committee.
In addition, he continued to take extreme and vicious steps to buy lawmakers with back money and even plan to nullify Minchul's election. Without stopping, Su-yeon, who is trying to confirm her paternity despite Yang Hoon's pressure, was the perpetrator of the hit-and-run incident by Um Soon-jung (Cho Young-ji), and even Sung Hyun-sook (Kim Kwak-kyung-hee) and Kang Seon-ho (Kang Seung-ho), who are close to Su-yeon, were disguised as traffic accidents and tried to remove them.
In the end, Yang Hoon, who concealed the evidence in preparation for the seizure and search after replacing the chairman of the special investigation committee, showed a threat, threatening Soo-yeon, who came after recognizing that he was behind the traffic accident of Hyun-sook and Seon-ho. However, when he learned of the existence of a recorder proving the past fire incident and Soo-yeon's involvement, Lee Si-gang immediately expressed Yang Hoon's meanness realistically and increased the immersion of the play.
In particular, Su-yeon, her daughter Ji Hyun-yu (Park Seo-kyung), and Hwajin were kidnapped and tried to remove the three at the same time using toxic gases, delicately expressing the psychology of the persistent and brutal villain, giving viewers goosebumps. Until the moment the plan failed until the end and he was caught by the police, Lee Si-gang fully embodied Yang Hoon's coldness and human meanness in detail and impact.
In this way, Yi Si-gang maximized the tension of the play by portraying the meticulous and vicious villain's psychology realistically. His performance, which showed Yang Hoon's threatening presence with just each scene, eyes and speech, left a strong impression on viewers. Expectations are high for Lee Si-gang's various acting transformations and moves in the future.
