'Youngest Jiho couldn't breathe and eventually' Moon So-ri got emotional at the memorial service for 'Itaewon disaster.'

Actor Moon So-ri swallowed tears at the memorial service for the third anniversary of the Halloween disaster in Itaewon, recalling the victim of the disaster and a 21-year-old staff member who worked with him.

On the 29th, the third anniversary of the Itaewon Halloween disaster, the first official memorial ceremony at the government level was held at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. The memorial ceremony, co-hosted by the Itaewon Family Council, the Itaewon Citizens' Countermeasures Conference, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, was attended by bereaved families, citizens and political figures to commemorate 159 victims.

Actor Moon So-ri was on stage that day and cried when she recalled the staff she had been with during her lifetime.

"You're having a hard time, aren't you?"I've been on a lot of stages, but I think today's stage is a particularly difficult one," he said"I remember Jiho, the youngest 21-year-old staff member who lived in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do for more than six months at the time of filming the drama "Only Without Crazy" in 2021."

Munsoori "The Jiho I saw was a very smart, bright and polite friend. I've said that many times. 'Jiho, your parents must be so happy. How proud would you be to raise such a wonderful and wonderful daughter?' I've said that many timesAfter filming, he went back to school and continued his costume studies and often told me the news. And the next year, I went to Itaewon on October 29, 2022, and I couldn't breathe..."I couldn't stop saying.

When I was told to attend today's meeting, I tried to write a letter to Jiho. But it wasn't easy. There are so many things I want to say and I can't say anything about the future. So I wrote and deleted a letter for a few days and then erased it for a few days, and "Then I saw the movie of director Lee Chang-dong "Añez's Song" again, and the poem felt like a letter from Jiho to us"

Munsoori "Instead of the letter I send to Jiho here today, I want to read Jiho's letter to us and a poem from everyone who left Itaewon that day to us."," he read out the poem. At the end of the reading, the scene fell silent, and sobs continued everywhere.

The Itaewon Disaster Citizens' Countermeasures Conference issued a joint declaration on the same day, saying, `The 3rd anniversary ceremony will be another starting point for moving toward a safe society.' `We will continue to work to get to the bottom of the Itaewon disaster and to ensure a society where life and dignity are protected.' Song Hae-jin, chairman of the bereaved family council, said, `If the state had fulfilled its most basic duty of protecting the lives of its people, the 159 victims would have been living their respective tomorrows by our side now.' `Today is the first time the government has stood by the bereaved families and citizens in three years after the disaster, but this is only the starting point.' Suzanna Evensen, a Norwegian national who lost her daughter in the disaster, also read a tribute at the event.
