On the 12th (local time), another airliner in Air India, where the crash occurred, made an emergency landing due to the threat of a bombing.

According to Thai media such as Kaosod News, Phuket International Airport received an emergency landing request from Air India AI Flight 379 at around 9:30 a.m. on the 13th.

The aircraft's captain informed the airport that a note saying 'bomb threat' was found in the cabin bathroom.

As a result, the aircraft was granted permission to land at Phuket Airport at around 10:35 a.m., and all 156 passengers were evacuated.

According to Swedish aircraft tracking site 'FlightRadar24', flight AI 379 departed from Phuket at around 9:30 a.m. and was on its way to New Delhi, India.

After the bomb threat message was discovered, the aircraft circled significantly over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket.

A search is currently underway to find the suspect who made the bomb threat.

This is not the first time an Air India aircraft has received a bomb threat.

In October last year, an Air India Express aircraft received similar bomb threats, and at that time, the Singapore Air Force dispatched two F-15 fighter jets.

Meanwhile, Air India flight AI171 crashed at 1:38 p.m. on the 12th just minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad airport in western India.

The crashed plane is said to have collided with the dormitory building of the National Medical School.

Only one of the 242 passengers and crew members was found to have survived the accident. Local media in India reported at least 24 deaths on the ground.

As of the morning of the 13th, 269 bodies were recovered near the scene of the accident and DNA tests were conducted to identify them, police said.

Air India said the passengers were 169 Indians, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese and one Canadian. It has been found that there are no Koreans on the passenger list.

Among the passengers on the plane, British national Bishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, who miraculously survived, is being treated at a hospital. He is said to have suffered injuries to his chest, eyes and legs, but is not life-threatening.
