On the 22nd (local time), the 75th Berlin International Film Festival held in Berlin, Germany, held an award ceremony to select and award the hottest film at this year's festival a day before its closing.
The Golden Bear Award, the highest honor at the Berlin Film Festival, was taken by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud's 'Dreams'. 'Dreams' is a work about a teenage girl with a passionate imagination pouring out her intense feelings toward the teacher in her personal essay. The Silver Bear Award winner, which is considered the second honor, was awarded to Gabriel Mascaro from Brazil's 'Blue Trail', and the Silver Bear Award winner was awarded to Ivan Pund from Venezuela's 'The Message'.

The award-winning side was also spectacular. At the Berlin Film Festival, 'Alone on the Beach at Night' won the Silver Bear Award for Best Actress (Kim Min-hee), 'The Woman Who Run Away won the Best Director Award for Silver Bear, 'Induction' won the Best Screenplay Award for Silver Bear, 'The Novelist's Film' won the Grand Jury Prize among the Silver Bear Awards, and last year won the second Grand Jury Prize for 'Traveler's Needs', setting a milestone of winning the Silver Bear Award for the fifth time in his career. However, this year, it left a disappointing aftertaste with 'empty hand'.
Above all, this year's Berlin Film Festival received a lot of attention for attending the first international film festival since actor Kim Min-hee, who is an affair with director Hong Sang-soo, became pregnant with her child due to a `natural pregnancy.'
Earlier, Kim Min-hee became pregnant last summer while living together in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do, where director Hong Sang-soo and his parents live. A photo showing Kim Min-hee, who is about to give birth this spring, leaving for Germany to attend the Berlin Film Festival with director Hong Sang-soo at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 on the 19th received more attention.
At the official event of the Berlin Film Festival, director Hong Sang-soo appeared cautious, walking on the red carpet with the leading actors of `What Nature Says to You' without exposing Kim Min-hee. Later, at the official press conference of 'What does nature say to you?', Kim Min-hee was mentioned about the movie budget, saying, `The staff needed to make a movie are me, my colleague assistant, and my production manager, Kim Min-hee.' However, she remained silent about pregnancy, including personal life.
As such, this year's Berlin Film Festival gave director Hong Sang-soo a greater meaning with a 'special event', but he doubled his disappointment by giving a twist that 'the award failed'. Director Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee, who was pregnant with an extramarital child, had to settle for just having a `prenatal trip' in Berlin.
