Ryu Jun-yeol's impression of winning Netflix's No. 1 position in the world is unexpected

Ryu Jun-yeol met with Sports Chosun at a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 26th and said, `I'm so grateful.' `I think the feedback from the surroundings was faster than when it was released in theaters.'
The Netflix film 'Gye Si-rok', released on the 21st, tells the story of a pastor who believes that it is God's revelation to condemn the criminal of the disappearance case and a detective in charge of the disappearance case who suffers from the illusion of his dead brother chasing their respective beliefs. Director Yeon Sang-ho, who directed the films 'Train to Busan', 'Pandae', and the drama 'Hell', took the megaphone, and director Alfonso Cuaron participated as an executive producer. Ryu Jun-yeol played the role of pastor Sung Min-chan, who witnessed the revelation of God in the play.
Within three days of its release, "Gyeshilok" ranked first in the Netflix Top 10 movies (non-English). In response, Ryu Jun-yeol "I'm so grateful. Certainly, the feedback from the surroundings was faster than when it was released in theaters. Usually, when it is released in theaters, my friends often say 'I'll watch it next week~', but this work was good because I could see it at home right away. I was glad that the fans abroad liked it."
When asked to what extent he expected the work to be popular, he "I didn't expect it at all. Not only me, but the seniors and veteran directors didn't seem to expect it at all (about the score). I might be jokingly predicting, but I didn't do that this time," he replied.
He also talked about how he chose his work. Ryu Jun-yeol is very interested in what humans believe in and what ideas they have. When I was working on photography, I was interested in exploring the inside of humans. "And not only this work, but also in previous works, I've talked about similar topics. There are still points that I want to continue to deal with, but in the current generation, there are not many opportunities to verify and check fake news, and there are cases where people accept it as if it were true. Seong Min-chan also felt that what this person believed was more important than just distinguishing between good and evil."
