According to Nielsen Korea, the 2nd episode of 'Going Palace', which aired on the 19th, ranked first in Saturday's drama at the same time with 8.3% nationwide, 8.4% in the metropolitan area, and 10.3% in the highest ratings. Starting with the lingering image of the previous work 'Treasure Island', 'Goong' drew a positive response from viewers in just two episodes, giving the green light to continue the SBS Friday-Saturday drama success.
'Going Palace' is a fantasy romance centered on the story of Yeori (Kim Ji-yeon), a shaman who rejected the fate of Young-mae, her first love Yun Gap (Yook Sung-jae), and Kang Cheol-yi Lee (Yook Sung-jae, one of the two characters) in Yun Gap's body. While the previous work 'Treasure Island' showed the essence of the authentic revenge play, 'Guigung' is building a differentiated world view by adding K-fantasy elements such as Lee Weapon, Palchukgui, and Sussalgui to the Joseon background.
In the second episode, mysterious events took place in the chaotic adaptor of the weapon steel that entered the human body and inside the cigarette. Kang Cheol-yi was fascinated by the five senses of the human being, drank rice wine, and shouted "How ecstatic is this?" and then showed the guardian throwing himself in front of the crisis. On the other hand, Yeori raised the tension of the play, still wary of Kang Cheol-yi in the struggle to find Yoon Gap's spirit.
In particular, Yook Sung-jae is well-received for playing two roles, one by one, between Yoon Gum-gwan Yoon Gap, who is friendly and clear, and Kang Cheol-yi, the evil god who has opened his eyes to the human sense. It delicately expresses the subtle differences between facial expressions, tone, and eyes when the character changes in the play, increasing the level of immersion.
However, there are mixed likes and dislikes about the development of the story. Some viewers find the fresh setup interesting"While the story is somewhat obvious", "Character settings are childish."The evaluation of " also coexists. Nevertheless, the visual combination of Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon, the mysterious events unfolding in the background of the palace, and the curiosity about the identity of the Palchukgui are stimulating viewers' expectations.
At the end of the broadcast, Succalgui Okim (played by Song Soo-yi) raised tensions over future developments, suggesting that Yoon Gap's spirit was eaten by the octagonal ear, and created a sense of fear with the scene where the blood-stained octagonal ear overlapped with the seizure of atomic Lee Kwang.
Attention is focusing on whether SBS will be able to continue its strong performance in Friday-Saturday dramas once again following `My Perfect Secretariat' and `Treasure Island````````.
