Since the first episode, 'Treasure Island', which has never missed the first place in the ratings, has developed too much to be seen as a simple revenge play. Seo Dong-ju, played by Park Hyung-sik, stands in the middle of a gullible and deceiving fight that does not know who is on my side and who is the enemy.
Here, the secret of birth was set on fire. At first, it seemed that Seo Dong-ju's biological father was found to be Joo Sang-wook. Young Seo Dong-ju in Joo Sang-wook's arms in the picture. Pimadam Son Ji-na, who had the picture, assumed that Yeo Soon-ho was her father. As it turned out, Yeo Soon-ho was the father of Hong Hwa-yeon, Seo Dong-ju's lover. Viewers were shocked by the tangled relationship.
But the real bomb was next. Seo Dong-ju, who recalled his memory through hypnosis, found out that it was Heo Il-do who drove Yeo Soon-ho and his real mother to death. In addition, in the 12th episode, it was revealed that Heo Il-do was Seo Dong-ju's biological father. Despite knowing this, Yeom Jang-seon continued to instigate Heo Il-do to kill Seo Dong-ju. The father pointed a gun at his son, and the son had to survive the grasp of the saline ship trying to kill such a father.
In this way, 'Treasure Island' broke the framework of the orthodox revenge drama by twisting the familiar subject of the secret of birth twice. A ratings black hole that instilled unexpected development in a classic framework. We will have to wait until the end to see which game will take place in the remaining four episodes.
