There was no exception in this work. He performed enthusiastically as one body with the character.

Actor Seol Kyung-gu, who played the neurosurgeon who broke the boundaries of good and evil in the Disney+ original series 『HyperKnife』, generously released the acting skills he had accumulated so far, leaving a strong impression again.

Seol Kyung-gu met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 14th and confessed his deep affection for the work and characters, and his close relationship with actor Park Eun-bin.

"Hyperknife" is a medical thriller that takes place when Choi Deok-hee, the world's best neurosurgeon, reunites with her former student Seok (Park Eun-bin). The conflict and the amplitude of emotion within the framework of a teacher and a student go beyond the scope of a simple genre. Seol Kyung-gu said, "When I first received the script, I felt strongly 'It's strange'"It's hard to explain what kind of emotion it is, but I chose the work because of its weirdness."I let off the rhyme.

What drives the overall play is the emotion created by the relationship between Choi Deok-hee and Jeong Se-ok. Regarding a complex relationship that could be affection or hatred, Seol Kyung-gu said, "There was also a feeling of love while filming. It was not a love between a man and a woman, but a mixture of pity and a feeling of seeing me as a child"I thought that although Deok-hee and Se-ok had opposite tendencies, they eventually moved in the same direction." It's a kind of decalcomani-like relationship."

Then "Seok and Deokhee are both abnormal characters. The collision between the two was interesting"He said "It was a priestly relationship that could not be easily imagined by Confucian ideas in Korea. They hit or hit each other, but I especially liked the scene where they were hit. The scene where he was hit with an umbrella took a few takes, and actor Park Eun-bin took the action of hitting the umbrella to the point where it was bent. It was really cool. Such a unique filming came as a joy"He confessed.

Seol Kyung-gu also sympathized with the viewer's response that 'hyperknife' is too bad to be classified as a simple medical genre. "I would have said 'Medical thriller' for publicity, but in fact, it's a complex drama with various genres," he said, laughing. `There was a word 'Piromello' in the message sent by actor Park Eun-bin, and the expression was very interesting.'

The work with Park Eun-bin was different for Seol Kyung-gu. He said "Park Eun-bin is almost the first actor to talk a lot without drinking alcohol." The direction of thought was similar. He said "I liked the feeling of shooting naturally even if I didn't make a special promise"I texted him thank you after watching the last episode. I meant it" he said.

For the character Deok-hee, Seol Kyung-gu lost about 10kg. He felt that he needed an external change to express a dying character. "I fasted three days before the shooting. It was so hard to work because I didn't eat." "I thought I would be ashamed if my dying face was healthy. I had to do so to make it less embarrassing"He confessed.

He also expressed his disappointment because of the schedule conditions in which the filming was not carried out according to the story line. He "Somehow, I had to film a scene between the past and the present in a day. He rebelled by saying, 'I can't do this even if I die.'"

In the play, Deok-hee even commits murder for Se-ok. When asked for an explanation of his feelings about this, he said, "'Because from Deok-hee's point of view, I felt a sense of responsibility to protect and that I felt like I was looking at me.'" Se-ok was the only student around him. I think he recognized his skills in the inside."

'Hyperknife' was the first medical drama for Seol Kyung-gu. "I was worried because it was my first time as a doctor, but an actual neurosurgeon came to the filming site every time to examine the surgical scene. "Actress Park Eun-bin had small hands, so I actually filmed it myself, but I didn't film close-up scenes because I had big hands. The brain surgery was surprisingly static without much action. I approached it carefully to make it feel real."

What was the best scene he picked. Seol Kyung-gu said, "There is a scene where we hold out our hands and shake hands in the last episode, and I liked how the two crazy characters fought each other's pride until the end," he said. When asked to pick Park Eun-bin's famous scene, he said "When Se-ok showed her feelings in the last episode" and "It was good because I felt it sincerely." I think Eun-bin also felt refreshed while expressing such emotions.

He also talked about the reason why he takes on unusual characters one after another. Seol Kyung-gu said, `The reason actors are attracted to unusual characters is because they have a wide range of expressions.' `It is cathartic and fun to use emotions that are not usually used. So 'Villain's seem to like them." "Seok-do and Deok-hee may look like psychos, but they are normal and sincere in their own world. It may be difficult for such characters, but I am grateful that the viewers understand."

Meanwhile, 「Hyperknife" starring Seol Kyung-gu recorded a high buzz among Disney+ original series through intense acting synergy with Park Eun-bin. The entire eight-part 'HyperKnife' was released on the 9th.
