Mnet, called the 'Audition Master' for its spicy survival programs such as 'Superstar K','Unpretty Rapstar','Produce 101','Produce Women Fighter','Girls Planet','Boyz Planet', will take a leap forward to the global stage to mark its 30th anniversary. On the 15th, CJ ENM Music Media Lounge 'Next: Worlds of Mnet Sins 2025' was held in Cheongdam, Seoul. On this day, CJ ENM's music content division head Shin Hyung-kwan and Mnet Plus division head Kim Ji-won said CJ ENM was a presenter at the media lounge and shared CJ ENM's global music business strategy and Mnet Plus vision.

Starting with Mnet, a music channel that means 'Music Network' in 1995, it has introduced original programs based on the novelty of illuminating various music genres and breaking prejudice for 30 years until 2025.

CJ ENM celebrates its 30th anniversary this year on Mnet and is expected to make a full-fledged leap into a global music IP powerhouse in 2025. On this day, Shin and Kim explained the future of CJ ENM's music business, which will expand globally, including Mnet's Next Chapter, which will further evolve under the slogan of 'K-pop Generation Mnet', as well as music labels and K-pop platform Mnet Plus.

Director Shin said "I'm going to explain the future of Mnet" and "I'll tell you three key businesses. It is a global multi-label, a global production studio, and a global platform."

First, Director Shin revealed the 'Global Label Establishment Plan'. K-pop artists who entered the world stage through Wake One and Raphone Entertainment successfully settled the K-pop development system in Japan, and a new global artist label will be launched within this year.

Director Shin said "We will launch a new global artist label, and I think we can talk about more details during the first half of the year. I hope you look forward to the leap forward of the new CJ ENM.




It is also expected to expand the production of large-scale projects that can collaborate with global artists beyond K-pop in terms of global production studios. Director Shin plans to present 'World of Street Woman Fighter' as a national competition;'Boyz Planet2' to debut simultaneously in K and C versions;'K-Pop World (tentative)' with Apple TV+; and'Band Project (tentative)' to expand globally. It will air a joint Korean-Japanese hip-hop project called `Unpretty Rapstar: Hip-Pop Princess' in the second half of the year, which will be created by the crew of `Unpretty Rapstar' and the crew of `Street Woman Fighter.'

In particular, Director Shin said "'Boyz Planet 2' is a system that has not been used so far. It will be produced simultaneously in Korean and Chinese versions and broadcast simultaneously. And he emphasized that he will make his debut as both teams at the same time.

Also \'Unpretty Rapstar: Hip-pop Princess' will give birth to a rap version of IZ*ONE. The genre of hip-hop in Japan has not yet had as much potential as Korea, but we are preparing ambitiously this year."

Business manager Kim explained the global platform Mnet Plus. Mnet Plus surpassed 27 million subscribers and 7 million monthly active users (MAU) within three years of its launch, and recorded nearly 320 million cumulative votes.

"We will continue to expand our music business ecosystem expansion model through MCS, a music-based IP ecosystem system. Mnet Plus plans to upgrade its platform based on K-pop content, communication with fans, and global commerce," said Kim.

Regarding K-pop content, he said that "K-pop video content will also prepare Mnet Plus original, Mnet streaming and VOD, additional spinoff content, performance content streaming, and VOD." As for content that expands the fan experience, he explained, "Voting and support, digital photo collection, real-time talk will be prepared." He explained, "There are not only voting that fans participate in and affect content, but also features that support artists, digital photos or content that fans can talk to."

In order to communicate with fans, we will be able to have online fan clubs, fan-only artist posts, and one-on-one chats, and will expand to various genres and colorful stars with K culture diversity. I want to meet not only singers, but also stars such as musicals, dramas, shows, and sports."

It also reported the launch of global commerce. Kim, the head of the business division, will be held under the name of "Met Plus Merch." I will connect the experience of K Culture offline commerce online. It allows customers around the world to experience K culture beyond time and space. I would like to present a special product that can only be found here. We're looking to open it first with a beta service at the end of April," he added.
