Lee Joon-young captivated global viewers with his three-dimensional performance in the Netflix series 『Weak Hero Class 2" (played by Park Hyun-woo and directed by Yoo Soo-min) released on the afternoon of the 25th.
"Weak Hero Class 2" is a desperate survival period and brilliant story of Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon), a model student who confronted violence for her friend but transferred to Eunjango with trauma that she could not keep, as she could never lose her friend again.
Lee Joon-young plays Geum Sung-je, a free spirit who does not want to belong anywhere or to anyone in Class 2 of Weak Hero, but wanders only in search of fun. A slick but somehow cool 'My Face', he is the closest looking figure to the head of the Iljin Union.
In the released episode, Geumseongje first appeared in a PC room while enjoying games. Geum Sung-je, who heard a voice gossiping about him from the other side, walked without hesitation and assaulted him ruthlessly, returned to his seat nonchalantly, immersed in the game again, showing his brutal side.
Geumseongje, who faced Yeon Si-eun for the first time, shocked viewers by waving his fist at him with a subtle smile. In the blood-splitting physical fight scene on the roof, he even performed intense action acting that resembled a real fight, enhancing the sense of immersion.
In 'Weak Hero Class 2', Lee Joon-young was completely absorbed by the heinous villain Venus and succeeded in another acting transformation, adding a life character. Earlier, he proved the true value of 'Trusting Actor' with a cool and gruesome villainous performance that connects the modifiers 'Handsome Garbage' obtained through works such as 'D.P.', 'Mask Girl', and 'Brave Citizen'.
Lee Joon-young, who made a strong impression as a deserter in the Netflix series 'D.P.' in 2021, also perfectly expressed the all-time villain character in the Netflix series 'Mask Girl' and the movie 'Brave Citizen', imprinting his unrivaled presence. In the Netflix series 'MeloMovie', which was released in February, he is proud to be a genius, but in reality, he played an unknown composer Hong Si-joon, who had a different pace of emotions, creating empathy for reality.
He stole the hearts of global viewers by playing Young-beom, a pure and honest pure man who only looked at his girlfriend Geum-myeong (IU), who became a syndrome-class hit by occupying the top 10 Netflix in 39 countries around the world. From a lovely couple of chicken ribs to a heartbreaking breakup after a long-term relationship, he proved his limitless character digestibility by providing food with his touching acting of Soon Ae-bo.
Lee Joon-young will meet with viewers with KBS2's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 「24:00 Health Club」, which will premiere on the 30th.
