Actor Ryu Deok-hwan finished the JTBC drama 「Beautiful Than Heaven」 and confessed the heartfelt moments of change he experienced as an actor and a person.

Ryu Deok-hwan played a pastor with warm beliefs in JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama "Beautiful Than Heaven" (directed by Kim Seok-yoon, scriptwriter Lee Nam-gyu, Kim Soo-jin, production studio Phoenix, SLL), and led the play's emotions in a stable manner by portraying delicate emotions and solid inner sides.

Ryu Deok-hwan, who had a quiet time since his marriage, returned to the CRT for the first time in a long time through this work. "The drama finished filming last year, but after it ended, I received more calls than I thought."Especially, my mother-in-law brought up the drama first, saying 'She was in that drama' and 'She cried a lot' and I was proud of her." My wife's response was different. "I watch all the dramas, but I liked it so much this time."'It was a great help for me to cry and talk to you.'"

The gap, which was not short, was not just a time of rest. Ryu Deok-hwan said, "After marriage, I wanted to prioritize my time with my wife."I ran a cafe while thinking about being able to get to work and experienced the reality of being a small business owner." he said. It was also a time to look back on the difficulties of the COVID-19 period and what he really wanted to do from the perspective of the president, not the actor.

Ryu Deok-hwan said, "During the break, my yearning for acting grew bigger and bigger. However, the bigger reason was the experience of meeting various artists while preparing for the exhibition. "I wondered why I couldn't tell my story as an actor when artists were talking about their work." In response, Ryu Deok-hwan organized an interview video exhibition with his fellow actors and candid voices. He was able to speak candidly as Ryu Deok-hwan, not as an actor," he added.

As for "Beautiful Than Heaven", Ryu Deok-hwan was a work that taught me how to "care for myself" after always being considerate of others first", he confessed. He also expressed his deep respect for Kim Hye-ja, who worked with him, saying, `I learned that I have to love myself to approach the teacher first.' "I fell into the teacher's eyes and cried without realizing it. I felt again what smoke was."

His relationship with Son Seok-gu is also interesting. Ryu Deok-hwan "I came to the cafe where I used to run, and he showed me the edited version of his work and praised himself. I thought it was a little weird at first," he said with a smile. Looking at the work afterwards, I thought that he was a really good actor, and he was also a coveted actor as a director. A person who knows how to draw out what he has naturally."

He also shared his concerns as a director. "In the meantime, I was careful that staff and actors would be hurt while directing," Ryu Deok-hwan said. However, I learned from Kim Seok-yoon's work at the scene that he should speak clearly at a professional site. "I realized that trust in making good works is more important than good images."

Finally, Ryu Deok-hwan acted for 33 years, but there was always fear. But this time, after letting go of that fear, there was an unexpected performance"I want to continue acting as an actor in the future."," he added.

Meanwhile, 「Beautiful Than Heaven」, in which Ryu Deok-hwan appeared, ended with 8.3% nationwide (based on paid households) and 8.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area on the 25th (based on Nielsen Korea).
