'Pulse Pick', which was going to cause K-Short Stage wind, ended in 4 months after its launch...a bitter exit compared to a brilliant start

Pearl's Pick, which received the industry's attention at the end of last year for its spectacular media launch event, closed its doors less than four months after its launch, completing a short and bold experiment.

Pulspic said on its official SNS account on the 7th that "We decided to terminate the service inevitably because we judged that it was difficult to continue the service amid internal operational difficulties and changing market conditions." `We have done our best to provide better service, but unfortunately, we have made this decision,' he said, expressing his deepest apologies to users.

PulsePick announced its full-fledged launch on January 14 through 'PulsePick Media Launch Day'. The event, attended by actors Yoon Hyun-min, Jung Hye-sung, Cha Sun-woo, Ji-woo, Song Byung-geun, Denian, Lee Jung-seop and Kim Ki-hyun, proved high expectations with a large number of actors and producers from all walks of life.

As soon as the platform operator 'Pulse Clip' is "Pick!" the immersion beginsWith the slogan ", we planned to implement a differentiated K-content strategy by introducing new short-form dramas every Wednesday. Kwon Myung-ja, CEO of Pulspic, said at the time that "Good production staff, actors, and writers will combine to create a new success model." he expressed his ambition.

In particular, Pearl's Pick drew attention as key figures who crossed traditional broadcasting stations and large OTT joined. Those who worked as entertainment producers at KBS and the director of comedy content at Coupang Play have drawn attention as new models for short-form platforms in that they have worked together to lead content planning and distribution.

However, contrary to expectations, the market wall was high. Although it aimed for short and immersive content, it revealed limitations in securing users and settling profit structures. Analysts say that it was not enough to survive as an independent platform in the existing short-form consumption environment centered on TikTok and YouTube shorts.

A media official said "Even if you have fancy connections and capital, the user base and loyal community are the key in the platform market," adding "The ambiguous positioning between OTT and short-form was regrettable."

Currently, PulsePick is known to have started organizing related data and systems such as press accounts.
