On the 22nd, a new Friday-Saturday drama 'Main's Haters' was held at the MBC headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Producer Hyun Pine Leaf, actors Park Sung-woong and Park Soo-oh attended and talked about the work.
Coach Maeng's Haters (played by Kim Dam, directed by Hyun Pine Leaf) is a pleasant two-man comedy played by Maeng-gong (Park Sung-woong), a professional basketball team coach who is on the verge of being kicked out due to poor grades, in partnership with Hwajin (Park Soo-oh), a high school student basketball fan who was posting malicious comments on him. The unfamiliar subject of basketball is released with a unique density and speed of a one-act play, heralding a fresh sense of immersion.
Producer Hyun Sol-leaf introduced "The story of two people who could never be a team becoming a true team" and "The drama is bright and warm enough for Maeng-gong to meet the haters Hwajin and become a real director"
In particular, some say that basketball is unusual in that it is the main subject. "Actually, I don't like basketballProducer Hyun confessed that `I didn't know anything about basketball, so I was burdened enough to lose sleep at first.' "Fortunately, writer Kim Dam was a basketball fan since he was young, and he was able to learn and work naturally with the appearance of real basketball players."I hope the drama will receive a lot of love and continue to be interested in KBL."," he added.

Then "Every time I filmed, I screamed to the point where my voice was breaking. The basketball scene needs to be as good as the actionIf you are asked to ad-lib freely from time to time, it's a foul to the referee!' I once shouted, "Oh, my God. It came out so naturally that it seemed like my true self. And the director had to wear a suit, so I was worried it would look like 'New World'. I have to persuade the audience, not the audience," he said with a smile.
It also gave special meaning to this work as it is a one-act play. "It's a two-part series, but it's like a movie."Park Sung-woong said "The running time was at the level of a movie, and above all, the script was excellent." The reason for the choice was that it was the best film in the MBC drama contest"Even if it's a one-act play, I want to continue to participate in the future." he said.
Park Soo-oh appeared as Hwajin, a high school student who is a malicious commenter and knows farmers well, and worked with Park Sung-woong. He explained "A blind coach's enthusiastic haters, but at the same time he supports his team more than anyone else."It's not just an anti, it's a sincere loyalist and a sharp analyst." "At first, it's a veil, but it's going to reveal a variety of emotional lines."I practiced to show you how it looks like."," he added.
Real basketball figures also contributed to the scene. Legends such as Moon Kyung-eun, Yang Dong-geun, Cho Sung-min and Woo Ji-won appeared in person to add realism and weight. The current producer "The set was surprisingly smooth. There were few NGs, and basketball figures were willing to help develop the KBL."
In particular, Woo Ji-won will appear as the director of the basketball team 'Eight' in this work, challenging her to act as a positive electrode. Producer Hyun said, `Woo Ji-won participated as an official actor, not a special appearance. I gave my opinion more actively than anyone else and did my best on the spot", he introduced. Then Park Sung-woong also "We have been friends for a long time. He has serious concerns about acting. We also shared a lot of advice", and "Because he is uselessly handsome", he said, turning the scene into a sea of laughter.

Applause followed "There are not many malicious comments yet. Some say it's a shame, but I'm going to refer to it and supplement it. I think there are still a lot of supportive comments."
'Main Coach's Haters' is set in professional basketball, but sports have a 'growth narrative' that is not everything. The current producer "Minggong and Hwajin face their past and think about new choices. I want you to focus on people's stories rather than basketball"It's the first basketball drama in 30 years since MBC's "The Last Match" and it's a growth drama. Looking back on his past days, he repents his mistakes. I think about how to move forward fairly. Rather than just a basketball drama, I would like you to watch carefully how the onslaught, Hwajin, and everyone around them make their new choices. It's time to wait for a new start. I hope you can wait while watching "Director Maeng's Haters"," he said.
MBC's two-part Friday-Saturday drama Maeng's haters will air on the afternoon of May 23 and 24.
