Actor Kim Sae-ron's posthumous work 'Guitar Man' comes out to the world.

The press and distribution preview of the movie 'Guitar Man' was held at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 21st. Director Kim Jong-myeon and director Lee Seon-jeong attended the site.

「Guitar Man」, which will be released on the 30th, is a movie about the love, loss, and journey of a genius guitarist Ki-chul who tries to find hope through connection with music despite the harsh reality, and director Kim Jong-myeon and Lee Seon-jeong took the megaphone.

'Guitar Man' is a work known as Kim Sae-ron's posthumous work. Kim Sae-ron, who was self-reflecting on charges of drunk driving, finished filming 'guitarman' in November last year, but sadly passed away in February this year. Director Lee, who produced and co-directed the film, said, "(As a filmmaker) I can't help but feel responsible. Until a few days ago, I was filled with emotions while editing with director Kim.

He then held a meeting to cast Kim Sae-ron, and he knew it was a difficult situation at the time. I told Kim Sae-ron that the movie will be released in May next year, and I hope it will be released until then and then get up again after the self-reflection period. I wanted to keep that promise"So there are some parts that were a little disappointing as I worked too hard on the work. When the movie is released on the 30th, I think it will be revised more. I edited the movie until yesterday, but it was the hardest to see Kim Saeron's face while editing." Then "I should have spent time sitting here together today, but I'm ashamed and sorry that we're the only ones who came out like this."I cried while watching the movie, and even though I watched it more than 1,000 times while editing, I think Kim Sae-ron's story is very sad."

Director Lee worked with Kim Sae-ron for the first time through 'Guitar Man'. Director Lee played Ki-chul, a genius guitarist who is living on the loose due to lack of money in the play, and Kim Sae-ron played Yu-jin, a keyboardist.




He talked about the process of casting Kim Sae-ron, saying, `In fact, there was an actor who almost got cast as Eugene"When I was suggested to meet Kim Sae-ron before finalizing the casting, there was no dissuasion around me." Isn't there a risk that it might not be released even after filming. But Kim Sae-ron read the scenario carefully during the meeting before filming, and he came up with ideas himself for parts that need to be revised. It was really nice to see that. When asked what kind of actor Kim Sae-ron was when he saw him on the set, director Lee replied "He was really professional when acting." In response, he "It would be frustrating to be waiting in the car, but I hardly came out. Even when there were many difficulties on the set, there were hardly any NG scenes. Of course, since we're people, we didn't have trouble either. Despite such inconvenience, he acted sweetly and well. Looking at it, I thought 'Kim Sae-ron is a natural actor. I thought he was a friend who would grow better in the future. I had personal pain in many ways, but I think it's difficult to tell you about my personal life in person. "

Finally, we talked about the message we wanted to convey through the work. Director Lee said, `I've actually been in a band since I was in middle school. It's actually my first time directing a movie and working on a scenario. The reason I worked on this was because I wanted to promote music. "It was people who gave me the hardest time while working on the movie. It was people who made them happiest, and it was people who made them unhappy. When I said I was making a movie, there was also a gaze of 'How good would you be if you did well?' but I wanted to capture my sincerity. Good actors may appear and create fantasy works, but as a musician, I wanted to show you what I experienced firsthand in my musical life."
