Channel A will premiere the nation's first construction knowledge talk show 『The Age of Construction』 at 11 a.m. on June 28 (Saturday).
'The Age of Dryness' is a new concept virtual talk show that interestingly unravels the history, culture, art, and science stories contained in the 'Construction' that makes up the everyday space such as the house, road, and bridge where we live. It will present a new perception of construction by asking the question 'Why did they build it like that?' rather than the existing 'How to build it?'
Do Kyung-wan, a broadcaster loved for his stable hosting skills and friendly image, will host the show. Based on his career as an engineering graduate, he will show explanations that fit the audience's eye level by utilizing his understanding and expertise in construction.
The fixed panel will be joined by pop columnist Kim Tae-hoon and construction technology expert Dr. Shin Won-sang. Kim Tae-hoon tells the back story of construction with his unique humanities perspective, and Dr. Shin Won-sang takes the center stage of the talk show by adding technical depth with a professional explanation.
Guests from each field also appear in each episode to lead a rich talk. Actor Baek Sung-hyun, rock legend Kim Jong-seo, emotional vocal star, 1 million YouTuber and astronomer Dr. Kang Sung-joo, and Cosmic Girls' Dayoung, who drew attention with 「Excavator Idol」, will appear to reveal unexpected relationships related to construction.
In line with the format of a virtual talk show, the broadcast covers various themes of construction across time and space. The world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, has K technology, the story of park development from Nanjido Island, safety technology developed in the wake of the disaster, and the space station and future maritime city, which will stimulate viewers' intellectual curiosity.
The production team said, "Construction is a process that has made our lives and history beyond just technology. We will deliver fresh perspectives and fun to viewers through amazing construction stories in our lives." he said.
Channel A 'The Age of Dryness' will premiere at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28.
