Director Jang Young-seok, actors Yoon Gye-sang, Lim Semi, and Kim Yo-han attended the production presentation of the Friday-Saturday drama `Tri: We Become a Miracle' held at SBS Hall in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 25th.
'Tri' is a work about the growth of Hanyang Sports High School rugby department and eccentric coach Joo Joo-ram, who are united to win the National Sports Festival. SBS's sports drama is a combination of excitement and pleasant team play, signaling a 'comic growth drama'. Although it is an unpopular sport, the core narrative is the struggles of high school students who participate in the game with a hotter heart than anyone else.
Yoon Kye-sang returned to SBS after 13 years. He plays Ju Joo-ram, a rugby legend who disappeared after retiring from disgrace, and he is the one who reorganizes and leads the team. He came forward with the idea of maximizing the humorous part, although it was not without pressure" and "I took out the nousle, playfulness, and performance that I showed in the entertainment show and wrote it. I thought a lot about acting in a natural way."
Lim Semi shows the world of independent one-man sports by playing Bae Ji-ji, the shooting coach of Steel Mental, and Kim Yo-han emphasizes the importance of teamwork as FM captain Yoon Sung-joon of the rugby department. Kim Yo-han is actually a high school student and has experience as a Taekwondo player, so he can adapt quickly to the field. He trained every week with real rugby players even before filming"I tried to melt the charm of rugby as much as possible, including teamwork, bumping, passing, etc." he said.
SBS has been communicating with viewers through sports dramas such as 'Stove League' and 'Racket Boys'. Coach Jang Young-seok admitted, `There is pressure to continue the genealogy like the previous works that ended in popularity,' but added, `Rugby is a sport in which the body and body collide, so you can draw a sense of excitement and emotion at the same time.' In particular, he showed strong confidence in the subject matter, saying, `Even though I don't know the rules, when I watch the game, my heart heats up.'
As for how to get out of familiar clichés such as 'rebellion of the last team in the last years' and"growth of coaches and players', Chang tried to contain bright and healthy energy without believers. Even at the filming site, I worked with joy and energy every moment."
While SBS's previous Friday-Saturday drama 'Our Movie' recorded somewhat disappointing results, it is also a point to see whether 'Tri' can open the door to a rebound in viewership. Coach Jang did his best to capture the energy of the shooting and rugby teams in the video without loss" and emphasized that "a sufficiently competitive work"."
'Tri: We Become a Miracle' premieres at 10 p.m. on the 25th.
