Hwang Minhyun's ‘Study Group’ Plans Season 2 After Topping Charts in 143 Countries

The TVing Original Series 'Study Group' (played by Oh Bo-hyun, written by Oh Seon-ho, directed by Lee Jang-hoon) has been nominated for the Global OTT Awards'Best OTT Original' category at the 2025 International Streaming Festival. Based on the webtoon of the same name 'Study Group', 'Study Group' is a comic high school action film in which Yoon Ga-min, who wants to study well but has a lot of talent only in fighting, enters the blood-splitting entrance examination at the worst school and forms a study group.
YLab, a content production company that produces the original webtoon and drama, plans to take this opportunity to further accelerate the expansion of 'Study Group' IP.
First of all, thanks to the success of season 1, the drama "Study Group" began planning and developing season 2. 'Study Group' began airing on TVing in January this year and has received a lot of love, ranking first in the number of new paid subscribers to TVing for five consecutive weeks. Not only in Korea, but also overseas, it achieved TOP5 rankings in 143 countries in the first week of the broadcast of "ViKi" and ranked first in four countries: VIU Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
YLab aims to make 'StudyGroup' into 'Super IP'. "I'm glad that 'Study Group' has been recognized for both its box office performance and its workability through this nomination," a YLab official said. "We will not stop here, but make 'Study Group' into a super IP that can be loved by more people through various attempts."
The webtoon 'Study Group' was first released on Naver Webtoon in January 2019 and is currently serializing season 3.
