Disney+ 'Polaris' has released stills of characters Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Yoo Jae-myung and Oh Jung-se, who played leading Korean characters in their respective positions. 'Polaris' is a story about Moon Joo (Jeon Ji-hyun), who has built an international reputation as a U.N. ambassador, chasing after the shooting of a presidential candidate, facing a huge truth threatening the Korean Peninsula with unidentified special agent San-ho (Kang Dong-won), who has to protect her.
First, Im Ok-sun, played by actor Lee Mi-sook, who shows unrivaled charisma in each of her works, is the chairman of Asum Shipping, the largest general shipping logistics company in Korea, and is an influential figure in the political and business circles of Korea. He has worked hard for a long time to make his son president, but when unexpected variables arise, he changes his route with quick judgment and does everything he can to make Moon-joo president. The released still draws attention with Ok-sun's cool and charismatic eyes, which are unknown inside. The appearance of handing over a document envelope to someone raises questions about what he will do to achieve his goal. Lee Mi-sook said "Okseon has a vast amount of thoughts, ambitions, and desires. In order to compress and express this, we tried to make changes from appearance to conventional metabolic processing methods," he said, explaining the character construction process.
Park Hae-joon, who has emerged as a popular actor by capturing the hearts of many people with a wide spectrum of acting across genres, from characters with unparalleled charisma to characters with good charm to whom he wants to be around, plays Jang Joon-ik, the next presidential candidate. He is a young politician of the New Republican Party who dreams of peace and harmony, and is highly supported by the public of all generations for his warm and friendly personality, such as approaching the elderly first, hugging them, making eye contact with children and singing. Jun-ik's appearance of smiling brightly and shaking hands with citizens creates a calm charisma that gives trust, adding to the question of what Jun-ik will look like with Park Hae-joon's charm.
Actor Yoo Jae-myung, who gives a heavy presence in each film, plays Yoo Un-hak, the director of the National Intelligence Service, who does not let go of the tension over the war on the Korean Peninsula and does his best to deal with the international situation and national security. The released still catches the eye with the appearance of Unhak in deep agony, leaving behind an informant standing with a gun. Unhak, who has the terrifying power to make patriots spies for the benefit of the country, will gradually reveal his ambition and add tension to the play.
Finally, actor Oh Jung-se, who plays a unique character with each role, will transform into Jang Joon-sang, a South Korean prosecutor, and present another new face. Jun-sang was recognized for his ability to win the Prosecutor of the Year Award, but he is a person full of inferiority and jealousy for his brother Jun-ik, who has taken an unrivaled step since childhood. Oh Jeong-se "Jun-sang's jealousy and inferiority complex are expressed in anger or sadness. It is expected to add depth to the play by expressing a character with complex emotions toward his brother in three dimensions, saying, `I focused on how to make my character look sharper than how to make it look.' Expectations are high for the transformation and weighty acting of Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Yoo Jae-myung and Oh Jung-se, who have perfectly performed the characters leading the Republic of Korea in their respective positions.
Disney+'s original series 'Polaris' will be available only on Disney+ with three episodes on Sept. 10 and two weekly episodes starting Sept. 17, a total of nine episodes.
